Project Description

This Swiss health insurance is replacing its system landscape which is based on a host system. The new core application is Adcubum Syrius. One of the subprojects of this introduction is the user training. The goal of this training and the integrated communication measures is to prepare the employees to face the new environment, in order to enable them to continue their work as efficiently and smoothly as possible after the implementation of the new system.
To achieve this goal, the health insurance company counts on the know-how of Innobrain, which is experienced in managing user trainings during Syrius migrations.
Due to the customer’s previous training strategy, the medium to high complexity of the contents and a feasibility evaluation, the decision is taken to carry out the majority of the training in classroom courses. These training measures are complemented by tutor-guided self-learning in the training system.
The first step is to create the user manuals. For this, an intensive exchange of information is organised between the training team and the subject matter experts. In a second step, the specialists of Innobrain develop the courses, the outlines and the training material. This uniform approach guarantees quality standards and didactically structured course modules.
The creation of the training environments and the large amount of complex data sets that are required for the courses prove to be a big challenge. To achieve the goal, which is very central to the quality of the training, test automation tools are used to multiply records.
To carry out the classroom trainings, Innobrain successfully uses two models of co-teaching:

  • In the sector "Services" (settlement of doctor and hospital bills), an Innobrain training expert and a co-trainer of the line form a team, whereby the Innobrain trainer leads the training, and the co-trainer has the task of answering specific questions regarding custom processes and the operation organisation. The classes consist of up to 20 participants. The teams are instructed in advance in a train-the-trainer workshop.
  • In the sales organisation, subject matter experts of the line are both technically and didactically prepared for the trainer task in an intense, multi-day train-the-trainer workshop. Subsequently, these subject matter experts independently perform the classroom trainings in teams for the sales organisation.

The effort is worthwhile. Within six weeks, 250 days of training for 1,100 participants are performed. The employees feel very well prepared. Starting work on the new system is no problem for them, and within six weeks the productivity is back to its old level.
